Sustainability is and should be the 'new'norm: but we hate to break it to you, with the current technologies in place, there is no such thing as being 100% sustainable with fashion. The least we can do, however, is to be as sustainable as possible with our resources and philosophy. What we want to stress especially is that as brands we carry this responsibility: it shouldn't be directly up to the consumer to do all of the research on whether a brand is sustainable: a costumer should be able to trust a brand on its word. We believe very strongly in this philosophy so therefore we have a system in place that doesn't require you to think twice about our efforts. This system is, and has been since our inception, built on two pillars: our production and our aftercare.
Most of our products are certified with OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which certifies the absense of harmful chemical substances in our products. This allows us to use the "Confidence in textile" label. OKOE-TEX is an independent testing and certification system that ensures that all raw, semi-finished and finished textile products are processed in a way that prioritises durability.
We are also proud to announce that our products are PETA certified. This means that we do not conduct or commission any animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products and pledge never to do so. On top of this, our apparel is made from 100% vegan materials so you can be confident that no harm came to anyone during its creation: no snake-skin, leather or any of the kind.
We source our products from third-party company that produce their garments in a Fair Wear-certified factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This makes sure that in compliance with Fair Wear's standards, all the garment workers are treated with respect and ethical labor standards. Fair Wear brands work together with factories to improve working conditions. They recognize and take responsibility for the conditions under which their clothes are made.
All of our products will never use standard cotton. If cotton is applied, this will be made from 100% organic cotton, which is a natural, GMO-free fibre that uses less water than standard cotton. This cotton is organic certified by GOTS, which means that it is grown without any use of fhecmical pesticides or fertilizers. Using organic cotton means that no hazardous or toxic substances have been used in the fields, thereby ensuring we create a safe environment for farmers and their families. It avoids any kind of pesticide poisoning which can lead to multiple health problems and even death. Waste of the organic cotton is used for supplementing livestock.
Regardless of our efforts in our material sourcing and production, this is not enough. It is still difficult to deal with the amount of water, carbon and chemical pollution resulting from clothing production. Therefore, we maintain a simple mantra: Think before you Shop. Is the purchase you want really necessary to get?
In order to circumvent overproduction and with that waste of very useful resources, we produce only in very limited quantities. This allows us also to do a quality inspection of each item and make sure you receive a long-lasting and durable product. Second, with every fabric purchase you will receive from us a dedicated booklet with tips and tricks on how to maintain your product and treat it in the most sustainable fashion.
